Welcome to my website. I am excited to connect with individuals and organizations  globally, who are interested in art therapy and global mental health. Whether you are looking for an art therapist, you are interested in how art therapy practice can be used in low resource communities, or you are an expressive art therapist interested in learning about global art therapy, you have come to the right place.

So a little about myself, my name is Alexis Decosimo. I am the Founder and Executive Director of the 501 (c) 3 nonprofit Playing to Live. Additionally, I have a private practice in Asheville, NC and online, where I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. With my diverse experience in humanitarian and emergency settings, I also specialize with clients who work within humanitarian settings or military, where I can meet with an individual online so that you receive support even when you are in the field.  Additionally, I work as a global consultant for organizations seeking to build mental health programs and research, and I am available for speaking engagements, conference presentations, and collaboration through individual consultancy.

My passion, focus, and career combines my background as an art therapist, trauma informed clinician, and as a doctoral level public health professional. I believe that a combination of art, play, expression, and community support can be some of the greatest tools for mental health healing, recovery, and growth.

**If you are an art therapist, I will also be adding resources to learn more about best practices in global art therapy, so stay tuned.
